300+ Hours into Horizon Forbidden West

by Sairung:

Horizon Forbidden West is an action role-playing somewhat open world game. It’s the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn. You fight a variety of menacing machines in an apocalyptic futuristic world.

I played Zero Dawn, enjoyed it, and excitedly looked forward to Forbidden West. I’ve been playing Forbidden West for over 300 hours. I beat the main game, got the platinum trophy and am now playing Burning Shores (DLC). I like the Horizon series. I love those robot machines and the amazing graphics. I like tearing machine parts off. Sometimes, I roam around tearing off parts just for fun.

However, I have to say I like Forbidden West less than Zero Dawn. The sequel has more irrational aspects that make the game unpleasant at times. For one, resources required to craft ammo and traps are too pricey to use freely. In Zero Dawn, I used traps and multiple types of weapons regularly. But in Forbidden West, I mainly use a Hunter Bow and Sharpshot Bow. The other irrational aspect I want to talk about is the Hunting Grounds, which I’ll cover in the next post.
