When Sol Jefferson, a strong, judicious Oregon county sheriff, witnesses a crimson-red creature appear out of thin air and gore a man on the beach, the encounter changes everything he thought he knew. Twice he shoots the creature down; both times, it recovers. It’s clear the creature is not from this world.
On an island under lockdown, Sol must ensure the safety of local residents, his family, and the love of his life, Yaya. Other supernatural beings offer precisely what he requires, but their plan involves partnering with and endangering Yaya—and he isn’t sure whether to trust them. As Sol confronts brutal, unpredictable monstrosities and unascertained mysteries, Yaya is the only one he can rely on. Can the two of them save the world?

About Alan & Sairung
Alan and Sairung Wright are husband-wife authors of the supernatural horror adventure, Separate, which was an Award Finalist in two categories for the 2024 American Fiction Awards and an Award Finalist in Fiction: Horror for the 2024 American Best Book Awards.
Alan is an award-winning college instructor with graduate degrees in psychology and education. As an undergrad, he studied fiction writing. Sairung is from Bangkok, Thailand, where she worked as an executive administrative assistant. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business English and studied English literature. She is bilingual in Thai and English. A lifelong horror fan, she introduced Alan to the genre. Both are also fans of fantasy, science fiction, and adventure.
