At last, I found delicious banana bread!

Let me tell you about my journey to discover delicious banana bread.

I had been searching for good banana bread since marrying my husband Alan and moving from Thailand to the US nearly two decades ago. I bought banana bread from almost every store that sold it. Each was either dry, flavorless, pure sugar or downright gross. Some weren’t even edible. I threw them all away. None was as tasty as the bread made in Thailand.

At one point, I was so desperate to eat good banana bread I decided to make it myself despite being unable to cook (due to lack of skill and energy – I’m semi disabled). I used a recipe from a cookbook. However, the recipe required only two bananas if I’m not mistaken (it was a long time ago). So, I added a bunch more bananas myself – six maybe? I baked it and waited excitedly. It came out a soggy mess and belonged in the garbage. After that, I gave up on finding good banana bread.

Then came a turning point. Early this year, I discovered a bakery company that makes almost everything so good, including banana bread. The exact kind made by this bakery and shown in the picture here is banana walnut bread. It could do with a little more banana (not as much as when I made it), but this is it! I finally found banana bread I can enjoy. My banana bread journey had a happy ending, though it took too long.

If you’ve had a funny cooking mishap and would like to share, please post it here. We can have a good laugh together.
